In 2011, I set up my first business Apollo Care, a domiciliary care company providing much needed care to vulnerable people living in their own homes. The business was, and still is, a huge success and I was soon getting calls from all over Merseyside asking for care. I had a decision to make, should I open more offices to meet demand? Should I franchise my business?

I decided to franchise my business for a number of reasons

  • Time: I had a young child and wanted to spend more time with him
  • Expansion: I felt I could expand my business much faster by franchising as I would not be responsible for the day to day running of the teams.
  • Money: Selling franchises would enable me to put money back into the business, without borrowing, to improve my current systems and quality control.
  • Protection: The franchise model protects my brand and reputation, giving me control over franchise outlets and quality of systems.

My first franchise was sold in 2013 and my business has continued to grow and expand across the country. I now have excellent systems in place to support and monitor franchisee development and performance and we are improving and developing new systems all the time.
